On Tuesday, I went to the Dia:Chelsea gallery at 541 West 22nd St to see Rita McBride’s “Particulates” project.

Inside a big, dark room there were hundreds of green lasers shooting and overlapping in different directions. It’s overwhelmingly (almost suffocatingly) humid in the room, which you might be able to tell from the puddles on the floor in the photos. We later learned that they create mist in the air to give the lasers some texture and motion.

In case you’re interested in going, the gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday, 11 am-6pm, and admission is free! This particular installation will be there until June 2, 2018.
